Make a difference where it matters most

At PYMHWS, our people are central to everything we do. We are building Victoria’s first standalone public youth mental health service – and with that comes a unique opportunity to shape how care is delivered, how teams work together, and how a strong, sustainable culture is created from the ground up.

Whether you are a clinician, someone with lived experience or an administrator (which includes a wide variety of professions), working at PYMHWS means joining a service committed to young people, to each other, and to continuous learning and improvement.

Why work at PYMHWS

Being part of our team means:

  • Being supported to do meaningful work in a sustainable way

As a new health service, we are deliberate about building strong foundations – creating the clarity, support and conditions you need to do your best work.

If you are passionate about youth mental health and want to a service that is being thoughtfully built for the future, we invite you to explore opportunities at PYMHWS.

The Royal Commission into Victoria’s Mental Health System envisioned a future where young people receive care designed specifically for them, delivered by services that understand their unique developmental needs. PYMHWS seeks to bring this vision to life.

At PYMHWS, we are building on the foundations of the Orygen Specialist Program (OSP), a groundbreaking initiative developed and supported by youth mental health sector leaders Orygen.

For many years, OSP has provided early intervention and specialised care for young people experiencing mental illness, offering comprehensive services including case management, medication support, psychological interventions, and family assistance. This approach provides treatment, care and support for conditions that can’t be adequately addressed in primary care settings.
